  • Advanced Energy (www.advancedenergy.org) is a non-profit corporation that consults with utility, industrial and residential customers offering consulting, testing, and training on applied building science. Their publication, "On the House" presents common questions and answers on building science (http://www.advancedenergy.org/buildings/publications/on_the_house/index.html)

  • California Home Energy Efficiency Rating System, Inc. (CHEERS) (www.cheers.org) is a California Statewide non-profit organization dedicated to promoting energy efficiency. A CHEERS Rating is a nationally recognized and accredited computerized analysis of the specific home being inspected that can be used to secure additional financing for improvements, to identify an existing home's energy efficiency and to identify "cost-effective" energy improvements that will reduce the costs of electric and gas utility bills.

  • Daylighting Information Clearinghouse (www.daylighting.org) provides good information on this topic.

  • Consortium for Energy Efficiency (www.cee1.org) maintains a directory of energy efficient residential appliances including clothes washers, room air conditioners, refrigerators and dishwashers.

  • Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Clearinghouse (www.eere.energy.gov) maintains a comprehensive warehouse of resources for the Department of Energy's efficiency and renewable energy information. The web resource maintains more than 600 links and the clearinghouse maintains over 80,000 documents.

  • Energy Efficient Building Association (EEBA) (www.eeba.org) promotes the awareness, education and development of energy efficient, environmentally responsible buildings and communities. The strength of the organization lies in the diversity and talent of its membership, which includes: architects, builders, developers, manufacturers, engineers, utilities, code officials, researchers, educators, and environmentalists.

  • Energy Information Administration (EIA) (www.eia.doe.gov) is an independent statistical and analytical agency within the U.S. Department of Energy. EIA maintains a comprehensive data and information program relevant to energy resources and reserves, energy production, energy demand, energy technologies, and related financial and statistical information.

  • Flex Your Power Award Winners for 2004. Initiated in 2001, Flex Your Power is California 's statewide energy efficiency marketing and outreach campaign. The award winners have become role models for other organizations around the state, the nation and the world by leading the way in implementing successful energy efficiency measures.

  • Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (www.mwalliance.org) is a regional network of organizations collaborating to promote energy efficiency.

  • New Buildings Institute (www.newbuildings.org) is a not-for-profit public benefits corporation, helping to make buildings better for people and the environment.

  • Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP) (www.neep.org) is a nonprofit regional organization with the mission of steadily increasing energy efficiency in homes, buildings and industry throughout the Northeast region of the United States

  • North East Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) (www.nesea.org) is one of the leading sustainable energy organizations in the US.

  • Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (www.nwalliance.org) is a non-profit group of electric utilities, state governments, public interest groups and efficiency industry representatives. Under this partnership, these entities support regional programs that make affordable, energy efficient products and services available in the marketplace.

  • U.S. Department of Energy's Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Network (EREN) (www.eren.doe.gov) is a comprehensive resource for DOE's energy efficiency and renewable energy information, and provides access to more than 600 links and 80,000 documents.

  • U.S. DOE Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s Building Technologies Division (www.eere.energy.gov/buildings) is an extensive resource on advanced technology and practices, as well as containing the Public Housing Energy Conservation Clearinghouse. This site has reports and in-depth case studies case studies, fact sheets, guidelines.

  • U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR® web site (www.energystar.gov) contains information on energy-efficient products and building systems.

  • Wisconsin Focus on Energy (www.wifocusonenergy.com) is a public-private partnership offering energy information and services to residential, business, and industrial customers throughout Wisconsin.
