  • American Institute of Architects Committee on the Environment (COTE) (www.aia.org/cote) offers an annual top ten green projects award program, an excellent model green RFP toolkit, and the in-depth Environmental Resource Guide.

  • GreenClips provides bi-montly news updates on sustainable building design including related business and government issues.

  • NAHB Research Center is a separately incorporated, research subsidiary of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). They publish research on residential green building, have an on-line ToolBase technical services program, and run an annual Green Building conference.

  • New Civic Works is a firm that is dedicated to sustainable design principles and promotes them through outreach, technical support, and education.

  • Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH) (www.pathnet.org) is a public-private partnership in which leaders of the homebuilding, product manufacturing, insurance, and financial industries join forces with representatives of Federal agencies concerned with housing to research and provide information on new technologies, systems and policies. The site contains an extensive "ToolBase" toolkit.

  • Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) shows businesses, communities, individuals, and governments how to create more wealth and employment, protect and enhance natural and human capital, increase profit and competitive advantage, and enjoy many other benefits—largely by doing what they do far more efficiently.

  • Sustainable Buildings Industry Council (SBIC), formerly the Passive Solar Industries Council, is a nonprofit organization that conducts workshops on green and low-energy design, publishes their Green Building Guidelines, Energy-10 energy modeling software, as well as other low-energy design books.
